Week 32, 33 & 34 / 52 Semana 32,33 & 34 /52

We went to St. Paul and Minneapolis for our annual leave. The family spent 3 weeks visiting family, eating a lot and having fun with the kids. Below the pictures.

For these 3 weeks I will just pick the best 3 for each boy for my project of having at least one picture of them until the end of the year.

Nos fuimos a Minneapolis y St. Paul por 3 semanas como parte de nuestras vacaciones anuales. Visitamos familia y amigos, comimos como chanchitos y nos divertimos un monton con los enanos.

Por las 3 semanas escogere las 3 mejores fotos de nuestras vacas para poder completar el proyecto anual de tener una foto de cada chiki por semana.

Week 32/Semana 32

First Week (With the bonus of my mom visiting us :))
Primera Simena (Con mi Mami visitandonos :))

It was the last week of the Minnesota State Fair. All the Hoke & Queenan family went for a day of fun at the fair. Sebastian really enjoyed the rides and Auggie wished he was big enough to be part of the fun. Auggie loved the animals in the barn areas. Sebastian was sleeping, crashed out in the wagon at that point and missed all the animals (when he saw pictures, he was asking to go back). We celebrated my mom's birthday and went to the park several times. The kids went to an Ice Age exhibition and met Sid the sloth.

Ultima semana de la Feria estatal de Minnesota, la familia Hoke en pleno agarro sus cacharpas y se fueron de feria. Sebastian realmente dsifruto los juegos mecanicos. Auggie se moria por participar, y queria ya ser un nino grande para ser parte de toda esa diversion. En recompensa, el enano se la paso muy bien visitando a los animales de la granja. Sebas ya estaba durmiendo cuando llegamos a esa parte de la feria (cuando vio fotos de los animales pidio volver a la feria para verlos). Celebramos el santo de mi mami y fuimos muchas veces al parque. Los enanos se fueron a visitar a Sid el oso peresozo de Ice Age.

Week 33/Semana 33

Big Family Reunion with Jason's maternal side. We saw Talia and Gavin, Seba's and Auggie's cousins. It was really nice to see them after a year and see how much they have grown up. Talia was great with Auggie and those two had a great time. Sebastian took a rare hibernation nap and when awake refused to come out to the patio. He preferred to be inside watching movies and playing with his mammoth. We also went to visit Nana and the kids had a great time at the Children's museum.

Gran reunion familiar con el lado de la familia materna de Jason. Vimos a Talia y Gavin los primos de Auggie Y Sebastian. Fue lindo ver a los enanos despues de un ano y ver cuanto han crecido. Talia y Auggie hicieron buenas migas y pasaron una bonita tarde juntos. Despues de una inusual y larguisima siesta, el lado ermitano (o sera materno?) de Sebastian se apodero de la tarde y el enano no quiso salir al patio. Prefirio quedarse dentro de la casa viendo peliculas y jugando con su mamut. Durante la segunda semana de vacaciones tambien fuimos a visitar a Nana y los enanos se divirtieron mucho cuando fuimos al Museo de los Ninos.

Week 34/Semana 34

We went to the Science Museum, where Sebastian saw real dinosaur fossils for the first time. He was estatic. He kept saying: I love it! I love it! And then he said: Mommy I want to live here!! He did not want to leave the place. We also had a Family Reunion with Jason's paternal side of the family and took advantage to celebrate Jason's Birthday.

Fuimos al Museo de Ciencia donde Sebastian pudo por primera vez ver fosiles de dinosaurios. Estaba alucinado mi enanito. Decia: Me encanta!! Me encanta!!.Luego de un rato voltea y me dice: Mama, quiero quedarme a vivir aqui!! No queria irse del museo :(. Tambien tuvimos una reunion familiar con la familia paterna de Jason, aprovechamos tambien para celebrar el cumpleanos de Jason.

Week 31/52 Semana 31/52

We went to the mountains with some friends. Not many pictures, but the kids had fun.

Fuimos a las montanas con unos amigos. No tome muchas fotos, pero los chicos se divirtieron.

Week 30/52 Semana 30/52

Auggie and Sebastian started a new Summer camp. This was a first for Auggie, and we were all excited. He did well. Cried the first day, but he is happy in the camp. In preparation for camp, I decided to cut his hair, it was too crazy and I wanted him to be presentable ;). I borrowed clippers from a friend and started the task. It was going too slow, so I decided to change the blade number...and it was not a good idea :( You can have a better look of the results in the picture. My consolation is that it is in the back, he is one year old and will not even remember this episode of his life. And, it will grow back very quickly (I hope).

We went to a birthday party and as usual Sebastian was next to the cake most of the time we were at the party, he was like a howk. And after a looong wait he finally got some cake. A big piece mami!!! he said when we were cutting the cake :)

Auggie y Sebastian empezaron un nuevo ciclo de vacaciones utiles. Era la primera vez que Auggie iba a participar formalmente de un lugar educativo con otros ninos. Lloro un poco el primer dia, pero en general estuvo bastante contento. Preparandolo para este acontecimiento, decidi cortarle el pelo, que ya andaba muy largo y loco. Queria que mi chiki estuviera presentable ;). Me preste unas navajas electricas y empece la tarea. El progreso en el corte iba muy lento, asi que decidi cambiar ede navaja....y no fue una buena idea :( Pueden ver mejor los resultados en las fotos. Mi consuelo es que la tarsquilada es en la parte de atras de su cabeza, el cabello crecera de vuelta, el enano solo tiene un ano y ni siquiera se acordara de este episodio. Y el pelo le crecera rapido (espero)

En otra, fuimos a una fiesta de cumpleanos y como siempre Sebastian estuvo al acecho de la torta. Parecia un halcon. Despues de una larga espera, finalmente pudo comer la torta. Cuando empezamos a cortarla, me dijo: Un pedazo grande Mami!! .:)

Week 29/52 Semana 29/52

Esta semana los chicos se fueron a la piscina, Cristella vino a jugar con ellos el Sabado, los enanos siguieron jugando con sus cosas de piratas. Pero fue la hija de mijefe (que se esta quedando con nosotros por unos dias hasta que llegue su familia que esta de vacaciones en los Estados unidos) la que mas llamo la atencion de los chikis esta semana. Sebastian ha agarrado a la pobre chica como su mejor amiga y no la deja ni por un ratito. En la piscina jugo con ella todo el rato y ahora en la casa hasta quiere ir a dormir con ella en las noches :). En las mananas tenemos que vigilarlo para que no entre a su cuarto a despertarla a horas no santas :)

This week the boys went to the pool, Cristella come to play with them on Saturday, they kept playing with their pirate gear. But the higlight of the week was the daughter of my boss (who is staying with us for a couple of weeks until her family is back from the US). Sebas loves her and does not let her alone. He played with her all the time in the pool and at night he wants to go to sleep with her. In the mornings we have to be careful, so that he does not go to his room an wakes her up early in the morning.

Week 28/52 Semana 28/52

We went to a waterfall called "Sodo" (in creole means waterfall: Saut d'eau). This is a very interesting place, voodoo believers and Catholics alike make a pilgrimage to this place every year. In the 19th century the Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel appeared on a Palm Tree. The festivities of Mount Carmel are one of the most important festivities in the country. When we visited there were people bathing at the waterfall and then taking all the clothes off and throwing them in the water. There were also people lighting candles. I wish we could go during the festivities, the pictures during that day are just amazing (you can check them on Google :))

Sebastian had the most fun, he wanted to keep climbing the waterfall and asked his dad to leave him alone and let him keep going up. That guy does not have any sense of danger. Auggie was more cautious but had a good time in one of the little pools that forms at the bottom of the fall.

Auggie is speaking more every day, it is very cute to listen to his soft voice. He says wha da? (what is that), agua (water), chancho (pig, he says this in English and Spanish)), atian (Sebastian), Azana (apple. His favorite fruit, for this he uses English and Spanish), Chaud (hot in French), Chita (sit down in Creole), bus ay (bull's eye, a horse in Toy Story) and repeats a lot of what people talk around him. I think he speaks more than Sebas at that age.

Fuimos a una catarata llamada "Sodo" (en creole significa salto de agua: Saut d'eau). El lugar es super interesante, Catholicos y seguidores del Vudu hacen un peregrinaje a este lugar cada anho. En el siglo 19 la Virgen del Carmen se aparecio en una palmera. La celebracion de la Virgen del Carmen es una de las mas importantes en el pais. Cuando visitamos el lugar habian unas senoras banadose, pero en onda de "limpia", despues se quitaron sus trajes de bano y los dejaron ir con el agua. Habia gente poniendo velas. Me hubiera gustado mucho ir para las celebraciones de la virgen, las fotos de ese dia se ven super interesantes. (las vi en internet, asi que googelen no mas :))

Sebastian es el que mas se divirtio, el enano queria subir hasta la parte mas alta de la catarata y le decia a su papa que lo deje ir solo. El chiki no tiene ningun sentido del peligro. Auggie estuvo mas juiciosito (como dirian mis amigos Colombianos) y se bano en una de las piscinas que se forman en la parte baja de la catarata.

Auggie habla un poco mas cada dia, y es super rico escucharlo. Dice wha da? (que es eso? en Ingles), agua, chancho (esto lo dice en Ingles y Castellano), atian (Sebastian), Azana (manzana. Su fruta preferida, lo dice tambien en Ingles y Castellano), Chaud (caliente en frances), Chita (sentarse en Creole), bus ay (bull's eye, el nombre de un caballo de Toy STory) y repite casi todo lo que la gente dice a su alrededor. Creo que este enano habla mas de lo que Sebastian hablaba a esa edad.
